Meet Dr. Pan – One of Our Los Angeles Hair Transplant Surgeons

The team at Parsa Mohebi Hair Restoration has continued to grow over the years due to the increased demand for our hair transplant services. From Dr. Mohebi establishing our offices in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills to our expansion in San Francisco with Dr. G, our experienced doctors specialize in providing patients the long-lasting hair transplant results they desire. As part of our continued commitment to providing superior results, we are proud to announce the addition of Dr. Michael Pan to our Los Angeles medical center.

Dr. Pan and the Life-Changing Results of Hair Restoration

Los Angeles Hair Transplant Surgeon, Dr. PanDr. Michael Pan is a hair transplant surgeon, trained by Dr. Mohebi, as well as a board-certified dermatologist. Based in our Los Angeles office, Dr. Pan believes the power of hair restoration comes from a combination of a surgical procedure and the artistic aspect of the procedure that gives a more aesthetically pleasing look to the scalp.

“My ultimate goal is to make my patients look and feel their absolute best,” says Dr. Pan. “This can mean different things to different people. Some people want a dramatic change to their look while others want a more subtle improvement. I listen carefully to the patient in order to understand their motivations and expectations. We then work together to formulate a plan that will help them achieve their desired goals.”

His overall goal with a hair transplant is to restore a natural youthful look to the hairline in a way that is not easily recognizable by family, friends, or the general public. Dr. Pan achieves this goal through a combination of surgical skills and an artistic eye.

Dr. Pan brings years of experience in treating patients with a variety of hair loss conditions to Parsa Mohebi Hair Restoration. He has treated hundreds of patients in the past who have experienced conditions such as male pattern baldness, scarring alopecia, female pattern baldness, alopecia areata and other hair loss conditions.

He also realizes not every person is an ideal candidate for a hair restoration procedure. “There are many medical conditions that can cause hair loss which is why every patient at Parsa Mohebi Hair Restoration is evaluated by one of the experienced doctors during their initial consultation,” says Dr. Pan. “Once the decision is made to have a hair transplant, I utilize my expertise and work with the patient to produce a hairline that is both natural and youthful.”

Building Relationships with His Patients

Building trust between the doctor and the patient is important, which is why Dr. Pan strives to understand where his patients are coming from during their consultation. “The most important thing for me is to get to know the patient as a person when they are in my office,” says Dr. Pan. “This means understanding what they do for a living, where they grew up, what hobbies they enjoy, their family, etc. This knowledge makes the visit more meaningful and also helps me understand the overall motivation behind the patient getting a hair transplant. Many patients decide to get multiple procedures in their lifetime, so it is important for me to establish a relationship from the beginning.”

Dr. Pan’s Hair Restoration Surgeon Journey

Dr. Pan’s medical journey has taken him from his childhood in Honolulu, Hawaii to training in the top programs in New York City. After earning an undergraduate degree in neuroscience at Columbia University, he attended the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai where he earned his medical degree. His education continued with a dermatology residency at Mount Sinai Hospital, where he served as chief resident in his final year at the hospital.

His work in the field of dermatology struck a chord with him that started him down the path to being a hair restoration surgeon. “As a dermatologist, I am trained to diagnose and treat all conditions related to hair, skin, and nails,” says Dr. Pan. “What struck me most during my training is that some of my most emotional clinic visits were with patients suffering from hair loss. I quickly realized the role hair plays in the presentation and self-image of a person and how devastating it can be to lose hair. While we have great medications such as minoxidil and finasteride to help prevent hair loss, no medical treatment can produce the dramatic results of a hair transplant, which led me to pursue it as my specialty.”

Dr. Pan In, and Out, of the Office

When asked about the favorite part of his job, Dr. Pan replied, “Definitely the staff. While we are growing as a company, we strive to maintain a culture where everyone is treated like family. We hope that patients feel like they are part of the family as well when they visit us.”

When he is not in the office, Dr. Pan likes to explore Los Angeles with his mini labradoodle named Mano. He is also a fitness fan and tries to exercise each day whether it is weightlifting, hiking in the warm LA weather, or cycling on his Peloton bike.
