Drew Brees – Quarterback Scores a Touchdown with a New Hairline

Drew Brees has been one of the most successful NFL quarterbacks of the past few decades. He started his 20-season career with the San Diego Chargers before moving to the New Orleans Saints for 15 seasons. He also led the Saints to their only Super Bowl victory in 2010. Brees is known for his skills on the field as well as his disappearing hairline over the years. Now that he is retired and starting a new career as a commentator for NBC Sports, his hairline also seems to be starting a new life as well.

This season is the first year Brees has been in the broadcast booth and not on the field. Instead of focusing on his announcing abilities, the public agreed that his hair was in the spotlight. The 42-year-old ex-quarterback appears to have much more hair on his scalp than he did in the last few years of his football career.

Drew Brees has not publicly addressed the speculation about his hairline. However, this has not stopped his fans from discussing whether or not Drew has undergone a hair transplant to restore his hairline.

Even though there is not an exact moment or date where the change is hairline started to become quite noticeable, some of his fans began to detect a change in the look of his hair during the summer of 2020 (before the start of the football season).

In July of last year, Brees released a video and that was one of the first times that the appearance of his hairline started to capture the attention of others. Football fans began to comment on the new look to his hair and wondered what he did to achieve the change in its appearance. After the video was released, he did not post many videos online. In the few pictures that he did post, he was always wearing a hair which made it difficult to tell if anything was happening with his hair.

Then, in August of last year, Drew Brees started to sport a shaved head which led to speculation that he had received a bad haircut. It is also a possibility that he decided to shave his head in order to have a hair transplant, but this is also speculation on the part of his fans.

The Continuing Mystery of Drew Brees’ Hairline

In February of this year, the NFL season ended but the questions were starting about the possible return of Drew Brees to the NFL. He released a video that showed him working out which made the public think he was returning to the NFL for another season. The video also caused a bit of discussion about how much more hair he had on his scalp.

At the same time, there was also some gossip about the star athlete transitioning to a broadcasting job with one of the major networks. The gossip eventually became a fact as Brees became the former quarterback for the Saints when he announced his retirement on March 14th.

Drew Brees, and His Improved Hairline, in the Broadcast Booth

When Drew made his debut as an NBC football announcer on September 9th, the appearance of his hair went viral again since the new TV announcer was now sporing a full head of hair. Football fans took to Twitter to make jokes and share comments about the new look for the former quarterback. They remarked on how the biggest “comeback” of his career was his hairline instead of happening during a game.

He has only been on the air for a few weeks as a TV announcer and his hair continues to make more of an impact on those watching the game than what he is saying about the game. It is not surprising that people are caught off guard by his appearance since they are so used to seeing him with a balding scalp both on, and off, the field.

Hair Transplant – How it Works

Patients that are experiencing balding or thinning areas on the scalp can visit a doctor that is board-certified and experienced in performing hair transplants. The surgeon can examine the scalp of the patient to determine the cause of the hair loss along with the best treatment option.

A hair transplant is when hair grafts are taken from a donor area on the body (which is usually the back or sides of the scalp). The hair grafts are removed from the donor area and then transplanted into pre-made incisions in the scalp. The hair grafts will grow like the native hair on the scalp and provide the patient with a fuller and more youthful look to the hairline.

It is not known for certain if Drew Brees had a hair transplant, but the new appearance of his hairline seems to point to that conclusion. Until he decides to comment on the issue to the public, the answer about his hairline will remain a mystery.
