Latin American Workshop – Guatemala City
Dr. Mohebi recently attended and spoke at the meeting of Latin American FUE to discuss the variance in issues related to specific regions. The meeting of Latin American FUE Workshop was held in the beautiful Guatemala City, which is the capital and largest city of Guatemala. It is also the most populated city in Central America. We can only imagine the vast variety of hair loss concerns that individuals may have in such a populated area. This serves as an excellent place to hold a meeting and workshop for this very reason. This was the IV Latin American Workshop that was chaired by very well known, Dr. Marie Andree Schambach.
The regional meetings in hair restoration are becoming very important in order for the faculty and regional doctors to discuss the issues and problems that are more specific to any specific geographic area. For example, the changes in hair balding and density may occur in different patterns in an Asian individual compared to a Latin American or African American individual. The concerns about appearance affected by hairless may also be different from one region to the next. These aspects should be taken into account when determining the right treatment for the client. This cultural awareness allows for more personalized care and treatment to ensure the best possible results.
There were many interesting and innovating topics discussed during the meeting, including a discussion led by Dr. Mohebi. He discussed the new Mohebi Implanter which was very well received by the audience. Many were interested in the revisions Dr. Mohebi put forth to improve it. He updated it with the new advancements in simultaneous extraction and placement.
The emergence of the FUE as the new standard in hair restoration brings with it the new concepts that are specific to this technique of hair restoration. One of these techniques is the FUE procedure to create total evenness of hair throughout the entire head. The lecture discussed the concept of restoring the balding areas while also reducing the density of the donor areas to minimize the contrast in different areas of the scalp. According to Dr. Mohebi, that is what gives the patient the ultimate look of having a full head of hair and minimizes the typical pattern of male baldness.
The next meeting of Latin American FUE workshop is expected to be in the wonderful city of Buenos Aires in 2019. It is expected to host a large number of audience members from Latin American countries as well as around the world!
We look forward to seeing and learning more about the varieties of hair loss and restorations around the world with Dr. Mohebi. Follow Dr. Mohebi on Instagram at @parsamohebimd to stay up to date on his latest travels, workshops, and meetings!
Dr. Mohebi Heads to China for 6th Annual Scientific Meeting of AAHRS and 3rd Annual Congress of CAHRS
Earlier this May, Dr. Mohebi traveled to Beijing, China for the 6th Annual Scientific Meeting of Asian Association of Hair Restoration Surgeons and 3rd Annual Congress of Chinese Association of Hair Restoration Surgeons. Carefully selected doctors were invited to speak at the Beijing International Convention Center, including Dr. Mohebi. The meeting also included a live surgery workshop. The doctors visited a new plastic surgery hospital in Beijing that was well received by media and local authorities. Fortunately, there were simultaneous interpretations during both the scientific meeting and live surgery workshop. Keeping up with the latest technologies, techniques, and research is the cornerstone of successful doctor-patient outcomes. Dr. Mohebi maintains his skills and knowledge through speaking, teaching, and learning from others all around the world.
Beijing is known for many beautiful attractions filled with history. Fortunately, the weather is rather mild this time of year, so sightseeing is definitely not something you’d want to miss out on (even if there are scientific meetings and live surgical workshops happening).
Some of the topics discussed on Friday, May 11th included hair restoration related to specific populations such as in Asians and Females. A panel Dr. Mohebi was part of was how to verify hair line symmetry. Dr. Mohebi was also the guest speaker for topics of the FUE session including the introduction and the dynamics of FUE. The day ended with a Gala dinner at the convention center in which Chinese clothes or business attire was required. Dr. Mohebi sported the Chinese attire – looking good!
On Saturday, May 12th, Dr. Mohebi was included in the panel and spoke on the topic of Graft Storage Solutions, Conditions, and Additives, for Hair Transplantation. More specifically, he spoke about solutions used in post-operative care/HRS post-operative solutions, shampoos, and treatments. This day ended with a live viewing and selected presentations and posters.
Sunday, May 13th was the final day, ending with the live surgery workshop from 7am to 2pm. The workshop included FUE body hair, FUT, Cicatricial FUE, eyebrow transplantation, and eyelash transplantation. Eyebrow transplantation and eyelash transplantation has begun to gain more popularity among many populations including beauty insiders here in the US.
Through the busy weekend, the doctors were able to convene and learn the latest in technologies and techniques brought from different parts of the world. This ensures the greatest results for clients and proves the dedication to treating clients with the highest possible quality of results that don’t disappoint!
Stay tuned to see where Dr. Mohebi heads to next!

Jose’s Hair Transplant Play-By-Play:
Jose Canseco’s hair restoration process began about two years ago when he found that his hair was thinning to the point in which he would wear baseball caps more than ever before in his career. Prior to that, he often avoided wearing his hat to show off his hair. Living in the spotlight, it can be difficult to cope with hair loss. However, Jose Canseco has chosen to share his game plan with us!
Consultation:
It all began with a consultation and physical exam and there were no strikes there – Jose was the perfect candidate for FUE transplant. Then, the transplantation of 2088 grafts took place followed by an after transplant hair wash. Hair regrowth was present with 2-3 months after the procedure.
Follow Up:
Sliding forward to 8 months after the procedure, Jose Canseco was happier than ever with the results!
Touch Ups:
This month, Jose Canseco is up to bat again – looking forward to his second procedure of touch-ups. With an already boosted confidence, he is looking forward two what the enhanced results are going to look like! And we are looking forward to seeing him! Tune-in on our Snapchat channel to get a behind-the-scenes look at his procedure.
Thanks to his hair transplantation, Jose Canseco won’t be making a defensive play for hat hair this season!
International Society of Hair Restoration Workshop 2018 – Dubai
The 2nd workshop of the International Society of Hair Restoration was held in Dubai, UAE on March 8-10, 2018.
At the workshop, Dr. Mohebi taught as faculty, lectured, and demonstrated a live operation. The workshop is one of the major annual restoration workshops that surgeons from all over the world attend to learn and share their unique experiences. This allows for a variety of perspectives on relevant topics in the field such as FUE, FUT, scalp and facial hair, male and female, and repair cases in order for doctors to provide the best possible care and quality results.
Dr. Mohebi lectured on his revolutionary method of simultaneous extraction and placement of follicular grafts as well as the topic of “Dynamics of FUE Hair Restoration.” In addition to that, he was also the moderator of the session titled, “Efficiency in Hair Restoration.”
And as if that wasn’t enough, there was also a two-day operating in a local cosmetic hospital in Dubai. During this time, there were 5 surgeries being performed in operating theaters for those attending to rotate cases including usual cases, intermediate cases, and special cases. Viewing this progression deepens the knowledge and enhances the experience. Dr. Mohebi demonstrated how the FUE grafts are harvested using the Travellini (Mamba) FUE device. He described the use of this multi-mode system which combines different modes of extraction. For example, the modes may be rotation, oscillation, vibration, and mamba. Having these optional modes to individualize each treatment improves the quality of the FUE grafts.
All in all, it was a successful and fun weekend for both didactics and live surgery!

A couple weeks ago, Dr. Mohebi attended Haircon 2018 by the Association of Hair Restoration Surgeons, India in Mahabalipuram. This year’s theme was”hair restoration beyond extraction.” It was held in the beautiful city, which was the second capital of the Pallava Kings of Kachipuram, known for beautiful stretches of pristine beaches, shore temples, and rock-cut art. Dr. Mohebi was invited to be the key lecturer and was honored with the Golden Peacock Oration. He also presented the most advanced techniques in hair restoration, reviewing the process of advancements in the field.
Not only did he discuss the methods of how we have gotten where we currently stand in the field, but he also acknowledged the future of hair restoration and what it will look like in heading into the next decade.
Dr. Mohebi also presented and lectured in areas of his expertise that he practices in Los Angeles – demonstrations of the mechanisms involved in FUE procedures as well as Celebrity FUE Hair restorations.
Aside from lecturing, he was able to enjoy the scenic city and culture. The people were very welcoming and friendly. From nature to architecture, there was always something to be in awe of. As you can see, Dr. Mohebi was able to take a very close look at and embrace some of the masterpieces.
But, what was Dr. Mohebi’s favorite part? The food, of course!
