The 3 Latest Hair Restoration Methods You Need to Know About

Living in image-conscious Los Angeles, having good hair plays a big part in having a positive self-image. According to the American Hair Loss Association, approximately two-thirds of American men will experience an appreciable degree of hair loss by the age of 35.

Fortunately, because of advancements in medicine and technology, treating hair loss has never been easier. Many people who were ineligible for hair loss treatment in the past now have many options that are virtually undetectable, thanks to advanced methods of FUE hair restoration.

In addition to the regular hair transplant via FUE or strip treatment, there are 3 new methods of hair transplantation that are now available to us:

1) Beard to scalp hair transplantation

This technique is great for when the scalp donor sources are sparse and not adequate to cover a large area of scalp. Here’s a video where I explain:

2) Body Hair Transplantation

This technique is very similar to the method in #1, only using body hair instead of hair from the beard. I explain a little more in this video:

3) Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP)

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP), also known as trichopigmentation, is a revolutionary new cosmetic procedure performed at our office to improve the aesthetic appearance of a patient’s scalp using dermal pigments. SMP can imitate the look of a close shaved head or blend in with the patients’ natural hair when the appearance of more fullness is desired.  The procedure is relatively non-invasive and is usually performed without anesthesia.

It is indeed a very exciting time for hair transplantation. We will be releasing more information in the near future about even more groundbreaking techniques like Simultaneous Extraction & Placement and a new implant graft placer, so stay tuned!
