Improving Healing After Hair Transplant

Q: What do you think about applying Emu oil or distilled witch hazel to the healing areas to help soothe and speed up healing process; (apply from seven/eight days post-op). Distilled witch hazel helps with redness? A: There is no evidence to show emu oil, witch hazel or other commercially available oils can help healing after hair transplantation.  Using the shampoo that we recommend and provide for use after hair transplant is the best thing you can do to minimize the scabs maintaining a proper environment for the hair grafts to grow.

Permanent Side Effects of Propecia

Q: Hi Dr. Mohebi, Trust you are well. It was a pleasure meeting you in Los Angeles back in June. I had a few concerns about taking Finasteride and wanted to have your opinion before taking the medication. Female Hair Transplant?

Q: Hi Dr. Mohebi, I  am a woman and undergone three hair transplants.  The first two were in 2002 and 2003 for 1,200 grafts each. Then I decided to get another one for more fullness.  I am 11 months into my 3rd hair transplant with another doctor. When I review my images one year after my first hair transplant of 1,200 grafts it seems like I had more hair then than now after additional 2,600 grafts.I am very disappointed at the loss of 2,600 irreplaceable grafts and need to see if I am a good candidate for a fourth hair transplant surgery. Scars from Secondary Hair Transplant Surgery?

Q: Dear Dr. Mohebi, I had a couple of hair transplant surgeries (FUT) in the past (about 12 years ago), and would like to do another surgery now. I have a question regarding the scar line in the back of my head. In other words, does a patient like me (who had surgeries before) end up with […]
